Re-entry Program

  1. This program is designed to help thwart the recycling of justice impacted individuals from prison to the community, and back to prison. Addressing the skill-based services is essential to securing reintegration, considering the traditional issues that system impacted persons confront, once re-entering into the community. Traditional issues such as:

    1. Stigma by employers

    2. Insufficient services

    3. Gap in work experience

    4. Societal barriers to employment

    5. Housing Issues

    6. Injustices, and discrimination issues

    7. Systemic racism

    8. Low self-esteem issues

    9. Health and safety concerns

    10. Negative peer pressure

  2. Soft Skills/Workforce Development Program: participants will receive the soft skills training and career planning services they need to assist them with finding gainful employment. The following topics will be covered in great detail:

    1. ​Communication

    2. The importance of self-awareness/emotional intelligence

    3. Teamwork

    4. How to cope with change

    5. How to work with, lead, and motivate others

    6. How to be a professional

    7. How to effectively manage time

    8. How to define conflicts and its causes in the workplace

    9. How to effectively solve problems in the workplace, at home, and in the community

  3. Other discussion topics include:

    1. ​Being assertive and not aggressive

    2. The power of positive image

    3. Accepting direction and constructive criticism

    4. Financial literacy, setting S.M.A.R.T. financial goals

    5. Budgeting basics

    6. Credit and debit and banking fundamentals

    7. ​The role of diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace and society

Other FREE wrap-around services:

  1. All program participants are eligible to receive career coaching, job replacement assistance, and mentorship.
